Complete Communities

This initiative is a follow-up to the 2021 Housing Report. The Complete Communities Strategy assessed capacity throughout the entire town of Chapel Hill to determine where and how to meet current and future housing needs. The goal was to identify shared interests around a new approach to housing that clarifies where and how to build that is inclusive, sustainable, and economically competitive. The Keesmaat Group, was hired to conduct this work. Council approved the Chapel Hill Complete Community Framework and initial pilot projects. The three initial projects approved to move forward are the “Everywhere to Everywhere Greenways”, the Midtown pilot project, and the Parkline pilot project.
